If you are having the issue that you are typing in your code, but the safe will not open, this means that in 95% of the cases, a battery change will solve the issue. In general, this is always the first step to do when troubleshooting your lock.
Yes you can change the code lock, as long as you follow the manufacturer's manual.
All electronic lock combinations can be changed. When receiving the product, a fixed manufacturer code is set. The instructions on how to change this code are found in the manufacturer’s manual, which can be downloaded from our website.
For security reasons, SafeGear does not have a master code, so we advise you to be extra careful when changing the code of your electronic safe lock. Always change the code with the door open and test it several times before locking the safe again!
To replace the battery, open the compartment at the bottom of the keypad by sliding the plastic cover to the right.
Follow these steps to replace the battery on your safe:
1) Open the compartment at the bottom of the lock by sliding the plastic cover to the right.
2) Once the plastic cover is open, carefully remove the old battery from the input unit.
3) Disconnect the battery clip and connect it to the new battery.
4) Place the battery inside the lock and close battery cover.
Only use quality 9V batteries. The keypad BR5010 is used with code locks like EM2020 or EM3520 from M-Locks.
The keypad is used on safe series:
Lyra, Libra, Paper Star Light, Gemini Pro, SB Pro, GTA, GTB, Safegear Gun Safe, KWT, Topas PRO, Einsatzdeposit
If the keypad test doesn't identify any issues, you may be typing the wrong code. The M-Locks BR 5010 create a long beep-sound if you type in the wrong code. Please keep in mind that if you are typing the wrong code four times, you will be locked out for 5 minutes. After expiration, entry of two more invalid codes restarts the 5 minute blocking period.

Please note that some of these locks, you do not need to turn the disc, but only need to enter the code and then turn the handle instead.
Safes or security cabinets usually come with many locking system options. Either key or code locks offer the same security level, choose according to your preferences, and bear in mind there are also electronic, biometric and mechanical combination locks.
Find the differences and benefits associated with each safe lock type:
PROS:
No need for battery.
Cheaper than code lock.
CONS:
A key can get stolen or broken.
Security safe keys can be long and carrying might be bothering.
You will need to find somewhere safe to hide it.
Can be used by several people without needing extra keys.
If it is used by many people and you are scared that one might steal the valuables, you can have personal codes with an audit function.
The majority of our clients choose code lock or electronic lock for their safe or security cabinet.
The biggest benefit of Electronic Lock is the visual display, that facilitates the whole opening and programming process.
The code can easily be set up or changed via external software.
A biometric safe lock can differentiate between 3 different finger types: Master, User and Alarm fingerprint. The master fingerprint administers the system, a user fingerprint opens and closes the lock and an alarm fingerprint can trigger a silent alarm. The fingerprint is converted to a specific algorithm and enciphered code.
No batteries are needed, which means that also electronic supply is not needed.
If you need to change the code it becomes more complex than, for example, changing the code for Code Lock.
You can use the emergency power to open your vault, even with an empty battery. To activate the emergency power, you need a 9V block battery, which you need to insert into the corresponding contacts on your input unit.
On the right side, next to the keypad of the lock, you can find two notches. These must be exposed with a knife or a spatula, because underneath are the contact points for the 9V block battery.
Now you can adapt the 9V block battery to the contacts. Note that the large negative pole is placed on the large contact and the small positive pole on the small contact.
The flowing emergency power from the battery allows you to put in the numerical code and thus opening the safe.
Allow the emergency power to flow until the vault is completely open. When you have done this you can replace the empty batteries with new ones as normal.
